Nomadic  Ku  - Never   Stop Exploring!

Welcome to Nomadic Ku

Hi! My name is Sue, otherwise known as Nomadic Ku or just Ku to my friends. I became known as Ku on a trip to Hawaii when I discovered that it is my Hawaiian name. I kind of liked it and it stuck.

I'm from Brighton in the UK, where I still housesit between travels. It all started in my early twenties. I quit my job to go and teach tennis at summer camp in the USA and worked for two seasons in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. I followed each stint with a journey of discovery across the states on a Greyhound bus.

From the bright lights of New York City to the wide open spaces of the south west, I knew then that I was destined for a life of travel. Since then I have travelled or lived in over fifty countries.

In 2012, burned out from the rat-race, my partner and I bought a ticket each to India. Since then, I have been living a nomadic lifestyle - backpacking, housesitting and writing about my travels.

Drawing on many years of experience, I write destination guides, articles and stories about budget travel, travelling light, LGBTQ travel, housesitting and the philosophical  and inspirational aspects of being on the road.

I love hiking through remote landscapes, experiencing strange and beautiful natural phenomenon and camping on beaches and on mountain tops. I also enjoy city life - cool bars, quirky museums, art galleries and the buzz of big city living. My favourite destinations to date are the equally colourful and intoxicating Mexico and India, two countries I can see myself returning to time after time.

My aim is to inspire others to have adventures of their own and make the most of all the wonderful opportunities that can be found in the world. Never Stop Exploring!
